AMANDA ROCHE PORTFOLIO

BEHIND THE SCENES
While my work at FOX Sports and NASCAR kept me entirely behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera, these roles were absolutely crucial in shaping how I approach broadcasting.
Stepping away from the microphone for this role taught me how to read an audience and understand what sports fans actually care about when watching an event. Seeing that fan perspective firsthand changed how I think about sports media; it taught me that a great broadcast isn't just about delivering stats, but about building a connection with the people watching.
Operating as a supervisor over satellite transmission in the control room at FOX gave me a deep, fundamental respect for the technical engine that powers a live sports production. Being responsible for keeping the Super Bowl or FIFA World Cup seamless for 50 million viewers, I learned exactly what goes into live broadcast from the ground up. It taught me the precise mechanics of timing, signal routing, and live transmission.
My time on the ground with NASCAR gave me a firsthand look at how fans interact with a sports brand in real time. I ran statewide campaigns, focusing entirely on grassroots marketing, audience engagement, and event promotion. I spent my time creating promotional materials and analyzing guest traffic data afterward to figure out what actually resonated with people. During races, I provided support for media and marketing teams as well as acting as a host for vip guests, allowing them the opportunity to connect with track, drivers, and history.
